'Tis The Season For A Red Carpet Event - Golden Globe Awards 2013

this week seems to be the week for red carpet events, and if you saw my last post you will know i'm a sucker for this kind of thing. just like with the People's Choice Awards post (which you can read here) i've picked out my best dressed of the bunch, but honestly there was so many to choose from that i really had to narrow it down. to see all the looks, head on over to Vogue where they've posted all the red carpet outfits.
i have absolute wardrobe (okay, stylists with good contacts) envy of the likes of Lea Michele, Jennifer Lawrence and Co. this week with all the amazing dresses they've been rocking, why oh why am i not a Hollywood A-Lister?! I've tried to find out who the outfits are again made by, all credit going to the Vogue website!

HELEN MIRREN - UNKNOWN DESIGNER
i refuse to believe that this woman is 67 years old?! she looks absolutely amazing and has definitely put her younger red carpet competition well and truly to shame. unfortunately i couldn't find the designer for this, but i love the gold detailing at the waist as it really helps to sculpt the figure and make it look more svelte. i just... ugh. i'm jealous of someone old enough to be my Gran - if i look half as good as this when i'm nearly 70, i will die a happy, happy lady.

EVA LONGORIA - EMILIO PUCCI DRESS
Eva really shouldn't be able to pull off this dress, she's gone for the forbidden rule of both cleavage and legs, but i think the long sleeves really make this dress. the flowing skirt also takes away a little from all the leg on show and i'm jealous that she looks so amazing! i would've gone for a more hair down, classic curls hairstyle, but other than that i think she was right not to accessorise, it would have just looks OTT.

KRISTEN BELL - JENNY PACKHAM
now that is how you dress a baby bump! just gorgeous, i want this dress! that is all i have to say.

KERRY WASHINGTON - MIU MIU DRESS, PRADA SHOES & CHOPARD JEWELLERY
i love a colour coordinated outfit and Kerry Washington has well and truly given it to me here. the silver detailing on the dress really breaks up the otherwise very blocky peach colour, and simple, understated accessories pull it all together.

NICOLE RICHIE - NAEEM KHAN DRESS, HOUSE OF HARLOW CLUTCH AND H.STERN JEWELS
thankyou, Nicole Richie, for bringing some god damn colour to the red carpet - everyone seems to have gone very monochrome this season (i know it's on trend, but if you're walking the red carpet at least wear something a little more spectacular, right?!) and anyone who has gone for a burst of colour seems to have been slated for it - i.e. Paris Hilton at the PCA's. i just love this dress, it skims in all the right places and the train gives it a real elegance.

LEA MICHELE - ELIE SAAB DRESS, LORRAINE SCHWARTZ JEWELLERY
i love everything Lea Michele ever wears, period. i don't even care that she looks like she's off to get married. i. do. not. care. end of.

BRADLEY COOPER - BESPOKE TOM FORD (ECO-FRIENDLY N'ALL, GO BRADDERS!)
oh, heeeee-lllllo Mr Cooper! how could i not pop him in here?! apparantly his bespoke suit is all eco-friendly and the what-not, so he's doing his bit for the environment aswell as his bit for me. such a considerate man. mmm. yes.

ADELE - BURBERRY
i adore Adele. she just knows how to dress for her shape and her size - tight under the bust and floaty maxi skirts to cover what is a lot of womens problem area; the tummy. just timeless and classic. and she won a well deserved award for the Skyfall theme song, which i love!

JENNIFER LAWRENCE - CHRISTION DIOR COUTURE
i've seen photos of this busy little lady at 3 red carpet events in as many days this week and this is my favourite of her looks. she's had so much (very well-deserved may i say) appraise for Silver Linings Playbook that it's no wonder that she's wearing such a beautiful dress. she actually won Best Actress for Comedy/Musical and i think she's so much better than The Hunger Games films.

SELENA GOMEZ, SARAH HYLAND & VANESSA HUDGENS AS THE INSTYLE & WARNER BROS AFTER PARTY
i just came across this photo, and have no idea where any of the dresses are from, and if i'm honest, i have no idea who Sarah Hyland even is - but i WANT her dress. this is the prettiest, glitziest cocktail dress i have ever seen. i'll do a little bit of internet snooping and see if i can find where it's from... okay, Vanessa is wearing Jenny Packham, Selena is in Versace andd.. (goes to do more snooping) i still can't find where Sarah's dress is from, sorry! they all look so coordinated too!

so there we go, another bunch of the best dressed! i've actually written this whilst hiding from the snow in bed this morning - i want it to stop, i do not own suitable snow footwear! i'm going to be drafting a lot of blogposts today from my e.l.f and MUA hauls so expect to see those over the next few weeks!

  1. Oh my gosh! I love this post, I did one similar but I can agree with you on all of these outfits - they're so beautiful.

I want to be Helen Mirren when I'm older, no question. She looks amazing for her age. Wow. :O

Sarah Hyland is in Modern Family which is a hilarois sitcom. But I agree all three of them look so good. I just want all of their sparkly dresses!

This is one of the reasons why I dislike award ceremonies, you can't own or wear any of these dresses - ever. It's heartbreaking! Haha.
