yes, you're right - there's actually six nail polishes here, but i couldn't just narrow it down to five so we'll all have to make do. AW shades are my absolute favourites for nails and i much prefer them over brighter colours in the summer, so today i'm sharing my top picks. i will say that since i took the photographs for this post, i've purchased fallen in love with Essie's Sole Mate which i would've included here, but if you'd like to see a seperate post on that then you can do so by clicking here where i've actually found a pretty good dupe.
new Essie love aside, onto my top AW picks. first is this khaki shade from Miss Sporty, aptly called Khaki Force - this is the perfect match for that typical khaki shade you see most parka style coats in, and also sits well with the few camouflage pieces i've seen floating around this season. next is Topshop's Threadbare - the perfect nude shade in my opinion and one of the most used colours in my polish stash. next up is this W7 number which i can't seem to find the name of anywhere, but if you want a similar shade then Mushroom from the Barry M range is very, very similar - a gorgeous taupey, muddy brown. Barry M's Watermelon is a gorgeous deep, emerald colour and is a great contrast against burgundy - it also picks out the deep green in all the tartan this season! Barry M Raspberry is another good match for all the tartan - a fairly bright berry red. my final pick is Shade 10 from 2True Cosmetics, a real deep navy which looks almost black in some lights.
something else i'm loving so far this season is the Rimmel Matte Finish Top Coat. i picked this up months ago, but have only really got into using it lately as i find it lifts some of the slightly darker shades which are popular this season. it also saves you buying a tonne of different coloured matte polishes - this means you can give any polish in your collection a matte finish.
